The Chaplet of Divine Mercy originated in 1935 when St. Faustina, a Polish nun, conveyed the revelations she had about the Mercy of God – that God loves all of us despite our sins; that God’s Mercy and love is greater than our sins; that we are to trust in this abundant Mercy; that we can all receive this Mercy. With trust we can call on Jesus, we can receive His Mercy and let His Mercy flow through us to others.
A simple ABC helps us to remember the Divine Mercy Message:
- A: Ask for God’s Mercy – repent of our sins; pray constantly and ask for Mercy for ourselves and the whole world.
- B: Be Merciful – let the Mercy we receive flow through us to others, extending love and forgiveness.
- C: Trust in Jesus completely – God’s Mercy depends on our Trust in Him. The greater the Trust the more we receive.
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy starts on Good Friday and is said every day finishing on Divine Mercy Sunday (2nd Sunday of Easter) with Confession and Mass.
The times for the coming year will be posted in the Parish Newsletter and on this website under Masses and Services at the beginning of Lent. Guidance sheets will be provided. Please bring your rosary beads.
